Mrs. Rogan: 7th - 8th Grade
My name is Jeanne Rogan, and I will be your child’s Guidance Counselor for grades 7-8. I’ve worked at Muncy Junior/Senior High School for over 27 years and, honestly, love my job! I am very easy going and always willing to help and support students and parents with whatever may be going on in a student’s life. I always stress to parents and students the importance of letting me know if they are experiencing any academic, peer, personal, or home related issues. It is only when I am made aware of a situation, that I can begin to work on finding a solution to a problem, or helping a student to work through an issue. I am excited to see you in the fall! Please check out the 7th grade letter above for more information!

Meet Your Teachers!

Mrs. Hoot: English
My name is Mrs. Hoot, and I teach English 7. I have been teaching in the Muncy School District for 20 plus years and enjoy working here! I hope you are ready to expand on the English skills that you have learned because we will continue working on topics that you already know and taking them to the next level. If you love to read, we will be reading many short stories, poems, nonfiction articles, and two novels: The Cage (based on the Holocaust) and The Adventures of Ulysses (based on mythology). You will also be reading an independent novel each marking period. In addition to reading, we will be working on writing skills. We will study parts of speech, sentence types, grammar skills, in-depth paragraph writing, and honing your TDA responses. Seventh grade English will be fun and exciting! I cannot wait to meet you in August!!

Mr. White: Science
Welcome 7th graders, my name is Mr. White. You may have heard of me from one of the many other students who have taken my class, and they probably told you how mean and scary I am. I want to assure you all that there is some truth to those rumors. I expect you to show up to my class every day prepared for class, and ready to participate in your learning. If that is something you can do, then you should have a great year in science. We cover a lot interesting topics, and complete some fun experiments. We start by learning about the world around us, like plants and animals, and then we move onto what makes up everything around us, like atoms and molecules. I look forward to meeting you all next year.

Mrs. Hugar: Math
Hello, my name is Mrs. Hugar, and I am one of the 7th grade Math teachers. I am really enjoying teaching here and look forward to meeting you. Every day, in math class, you will need a pencil, an eraser, TI-84 Plus calculator (you will need 4-AAA batteries), and your Chromebook. Math can be challenging, but also can be fun and rewarding. I hope to help you experience the fun in math as I challenge you to find the rewarding parts as well. I look forward to a wonderful school year with you. See you soon!

Miss Groshek: Math
Hey future 7th graders! My name is Miss Groshek and I am one of the Math 7 teachers. I am so excited to meet you and help you succeed in math class this year! Math 7 is designed to provide you with a solid foundation for Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, and the PSSA Grade 7 Assessment. We will cover a variety of fun topics including, but not limited to, equations, inequalities, ratios, functions, graphing, geometry, as well as some probability and statistics. You will also learn how to work a TI-84 Plus graphing calculator. I look forward to meeting you soon!
Mr. Town: World Cultures I
This course is designed to be a survey course of ancient civilizations from their beginnings through the 1600s. The primary focus of this course will be looking at the foundations of history, Ancient Egypt, China, Greece and Rome, the Middle Ages, Renaissance, and the Age of Exploration. With these topics we will create an in-depth investigation of different cultures, physical, environmental, social, political, and governmental issues, while connecting past events to present issues, forming historical opinions, worthwhile research and writing assignments for future careers. Each unit will have a variety of images, PowerPoints, music, literature, writing components, video clips, hybrid learning, and other hands-on materials to enhance your learning experience. See you soon!

Mr. McCrone: Learning Support/English
Greetings folks! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone this fall! I will be co-teaching a section of English 7 with Mrs. Hoot and will also be teaching an academic instructional support (AIS) class. Mrs. Hoot and I have been co-teaching English 7 together for over fifteen years, and we have blast doing it! My AIS class focuses on giving students small group and one on one help for assignments in their general education classes, organization, studying for tests and quizzes, learning good study habits, and keeping track of current events around the world to help make real world connections to classes. I graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Psychology and am a big Penn State fan! Following Penn State I attended graduate school at Bloomsburg University and earned my Master of Science degree in special education. I am certified in special education K-12 and English 7-9. Outside of school I enjoy fly fishing, coaching Little League baseball, and spending time outdoors. I currently reside in Bloomsburg with my wife, Jennifer, our two children, Liam and Shalea, a cat named Sandstorm, and a chocolate lab named Chewbarka (Chewie for short). I'll be looking forward to seeing everyone in August and September!

Mrs. Taylor: Learning Support
Hi! I am Mrs. Taylor and I am one of the 7th grade learning support teachers. This is my 9th year at Muncy and my 7th year as a learning support teacher. I co-teach in some of the 7th grade courses and love working with this 7th grade team! I also look forward to working with you! A fun fact about me is that I graduated from Muncy in 2012 and had some of the teachers you will have! Can’t wait to meet you!

7th Grade Career Readiness

Welcome to 7th grade! I am Mrs. Zimmerman, one of the business teachers and this is my 23rd year teaching at Muncy. This year you will be taking Career Readiness for one marking period. In class, you will learn about yourself: your personality, likes & interests, and how it all relates to career exploration and your future. There are four main topic areas we will cover: career awareness, career acquisition (getting a job), career advancement, and entrepreneurship. In order to meet graduation requirements, there are eight career standard projects to complete. There is plenty of time to complete all work in class as long as you use your class time wisely! What will you need for class? A positive attitude, open mind, and respect, and I highly recommend a pair of headphones or earbuds for various video activities assigned. A folder and all materials will be given in class. I look forward to seeing you in the fall!
Mrs. Zimmerman

Hello from Mrs. Jordan and the Business Department! I have been teaching in the Muncy School District for the past 18 years! In addition to Career Readiness, you may see Career Technology on your schedule. In Career Tech, we learn about careers, different ways technology is used in the workforce and by businesses, and how to type properly! All of the work for this class is completed during class time so, you won’t have to worry about having any homework! I am looking forward to meeting all of you during the school year!
Technology Education

Welcome all future 7th graders. My name is Mr. Kreisher and I teach many courses in Technology here at Muncy Jr. Sr. High School. I graduated from Millersville University in 2005 with a degree in Technology Education and a degree in Occupational Safety and Environmental Health. I also have a Master's degree from Bloomsburg University in Instructional Design (online learning). I have been teaching here at Muncy since 2005 and live in Muncy Creek Township with Mrs. Kreisher (the FACS teacher) and have 3 children in the district; Aubrey, Grant and Marshall.
In 7th Grade you will take the 7th Grade Technology Education Integration course where you will learn the basic foundations of technology. We discover the meaning of STEM and how technology is created, how it is advanced and how it is fixed in a manner that is systematic and applicable to all areas of life. In Technology Education classes, we focus on problem solving and learn how to incorporate all parts of education into the problem solving process. We use History, Mathematics, Science, Communications and Language Arts skills in order to develop solutions to problems through the use of the Engineering Design Model. Through the development of these skills, we will work in teams and as individuals to learn how to 3D Print, LASER Engrave, Embroider, Dye Sublimate, CNC as well as introduce robotics and electronics. We will also focus on computer applications and concepts such as file formats and conversions, the internet vs the world wide web, uploading and downloading, CAD, Graphic design and Coding. When you get to 8th grade, you will have another 45 days of more in-depth content in Technology Education. I look forward to meet all of you.

Welcome to 7th Grade! My name is Mrs. Kreisher and I teach both Math and Family Consumer Sciences classes at Muncy. For 7th grade, you will have one quarter (45 days) of 7th Grade Family and Consumer Science (FACS), as part of your elective rotation. In FACS class, we do a lot of exciting things to help you be prepared for life! In this class, you will learn about doing your laundry, how to eat healthy, how to cook a few things, how to hand sew and fix items of clothing, how to get ready to babysit/watch a smaller child, and how to keep track of your bank account. We do a lot of hands-on activities in this class and have a lot of fun! Because most of what we do is in class, you will only have two small homework assignments during the entire quarter. I will also provide you with the notes and a folder that you need for class, so you only need to come prepared with you and a pencil to be ready to learn. I am looking forward to meeting you!
