What Are Current Events?

Look for the current event for the month on the board in Mr. Davis’ room or on here! Each month students will be given a topic that they will need to find a related current event going on in the world now.

Part I, students must find a current event in the month the event is due. For example, if the topic for the month of September is food, students have to find a article about food that happened int he month of September to gain full points. Students will then fill out a current event breakdown handout (which is posted on the current board in Mr. Davis' room or you can download the form on here under the button Current Event Form) and will discuss their articles in class on their due date at the end of each month. Students need to fill out all of the form and submit it in the box on the day it is due.

Part II, students need to present their article in speech form one time during the school year. This form requires students to present their article in front of the class and complete an extra form for the month they sign up for. Students need to submit their speech paper as well as their current event when they present their speech part. Students are only required to present in front of the class one time during the school year and required to find an article for each month during the school year. Please look at the speech sign up form below to sign up for your month. Remember you ONLY have to fill out a speech form when you present your current event formally on the month you sign up for.

To receive full credit, you must have the article printed, the form filled out and attached to the article. If you are presenting your part II speech paper, attach that form as well. Each current event that meets to following requirement will receive 60 points.
